Free Grown in Britain licensing for Making Local Woods Work projects

As part of Making Local Woods Work, Grown in Britain is offering free Grown in Britain licensing for woodland social enterprises receiving support through the project.

A Grown in Britain licence shows that you support active and sustainable management of our UK forests and woodlands. It has been designed to increase visibility of home grown timber by licensing timber from woodlands and timber products that are grown in the UK. It provides assurance that the timber has been grown in the UK in accordance with the UK Government Timber Procurement Policy. Click here to find out more about the benefits of becoming registered.

Grown in Britain is a partner on Making Local Woods Work, and is all about supporting woodlands and forests to get into great shape for people, wildlife and the amazing array of homegrown wood products that they can produce. As part of MLWW, Grown in Britain is offering all woodland social enterprises involved in the project a licence for free, which allows you to use the GiB logo, publicise your products on their website, and have access to other GiB licensed suppliers.

Grown in Britain also has strong ties to Woodsure, the UK’s only woodfuel quality assurance scheme. If you are producing and selling firewood from your woodlands, GiB can provide you with advice and assistance in gaining certification for your firewood. Woodsure certification demonstrates quality assurance, provides business support and opportunities, and provides a valuable point of difference with the use of the Woodsure logo.

If you are interested in taking up this offer, all you’ll need to do is share your woodland management plan with Grown in Britain, and they will guide you through the process. For more information or to take up this offer, call Grown in Britain on 0117 958 2189 or email
