After its official launch day on Thursday 9 March, we would like to thank you all for joining the network and contributing to some wonderful discussions already! With over 110 members, we look back on what has been going on so far:
Sharing case studies – Shared Assets posted about the case studies they have put together, as part of Making Local Woods Work. This includes one on Knoydart Forest Trust which can be found below:
Running training courses – Someone expressed an interest in seeing a course run on knot tying at Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park, one of our woodland social enterprise groups, with a great response on seeing this put together. We have seen similar posts about this and it is great to see members expressing an interest in more training sessions being run.
Fundraising – The network is a great place to share any fundraising opportunities you currently have. Brickmakers Wood, for example, shared a post about raising funds to regenerate a section of their woodland which was being affected by fly tipping. This generated a good response from members, being seen by 56 members with 2 sharing the post. They have now successfully raised the funds they needed and we hope that this post went some way towards this:
These are just a few examples of the kinds of things members are sharing on the Woodland Social Enterprise Network. We hope that the Network continues to grow and remain an important place for our groups and those working in Woodland Social Enterprises to find and share information.
